Τ he training program Basic Life Support with the Use of Automatic External Defibrillator program included a series of theoretical modules and practical subjects, with the aim of early recognition of the main life-threatening incidents as well as their treatment.
The training include Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the trainees learned the use of the Automatic External Defibrillator in order to be able to support the life of a victim with the use of special equipment.
The choosen training content for COCO-MAT included also the followinmg:
• Basic human physiology • Respiratory pause • Myocardial infarction • Ventricular fibrillation (sudden cardiac arrest) • Obstruction of respiratory tract • Severe bleeding • Physical shock • Stroke • Anaphylaxis shock • Spinal injuries • Unconscious patient • Call Health Services • Primary assessment (recognition of urgency) • Cardiopulmonary revitalization • Recovery position • Automatic External Defibrillation (AED) • Description of the AED • Voice commands of the AED • Safety and maintenance of the AED • The results of using the AED
